Death Grips is a Sacramento-based music group known for both surreal lyricism and experimental vocals and instrumentation. Perhaps most infamous work is their debut mix-tape, Exmilitary, showcasing a kind of dark liberation; becoming so free from the will of society that you no longer fear anything, including death itself. Covered with nigh-apocalyptic imagery and uncompromisingly nihilistic ideologies, the thesis statement for this album, and perhaps for the band as a whole, occurs directly after the hook of the song:
“And I know soon come my time
For in mine void a pale horse burns
